Days of CaringTM mobilizes volunteers from organizations that support United Way and matches them with non-profit agencies throughout the Central Island area. Days of Caring TM is a unique opportunity for employees in a workplace to come together, develop team-building skilss and make a difference in our community by taking part in meaningful work projects at local agencies.

Employee teams will "report to work" at many local not-for-profit agencies in the fall of 2009. Projects will range from a half or full day length and include anywhere from 3-15 employees. It is an opportunity for employee volunteer teams to see their donations at work in the community. The projects are a great exercise in collaboration, hard work, and general all around fun in the spirit of volunteering, while making a difference in our communities.

When does it take place?

2009 Days of Caring took place from October 19th - November 20th, 2009.

What kinds of projects have been completed in the past?

Book sorting
Painting offices
Painting a daycare
General clean-up
Landscaping
Simple renovations

How do Agencies Benefit?

Agencies will benefit from Days of Caring TM by receiving volunteer help to complete much-needed projects that would not otherwise be completed. The projects vary from painting, gardening, cleanup and minor renovations. Project that will affect the quality of the facility or services for the program recipients.

How do Businesses Benefit?

Daysof CaringTM offers employees the chance to have a hands-on experience in improving our communities. It also develops teamwork and leadership in the community and promotes volunteerism. Days of CaringTM also demonstates the good-will and generosity of your organization and fosters positive community relations.
