2009 Kick-off Breakfasts

WINNER!

Bruce Williams, of ‘A‘ British Columbia Television has been honoured with the President and Chairs’ Award of Distinction from United Way Canada.

Williams was nominated by United Way Central and Northern Vancouver Island for his commitment to the United Ways on Vancouver Island, as well as his commitment to other Island non-profit agencies. His award recognizes his community spirit which makes an impact for all of us. He has been MC at Kick–offs in all 5 United Way communities over the past 4 years, sits on the Campaign Cabinet for United Way Greater Victoria, Cowichan United Way and United Way Central and
Northern Vancouver Island and is always available for special events. Bruce is also a past Board Member of the United Way of Greater Nanaimo.

His fundraising efforts in the Central Island have brought in $52,000 though auctions offering up one of his ”A’ News weather broadcast from places of business, or his services as an “Employee for a Day” .

Marlene Toivonen of UWCNVI said “it was a pleasure to nominate Bruce in recognition of all he contributes to every community on Vancouver Island.

We were thrilled when we learned he had been selected”
